did not return during the game. “We knew that Winslow was dangerous and even after prioritizing him as a threat we were not really able to stop him as we had hoped. I would never wish harm on a player but it was an easier day with him off the field. This team is so dangerous and so skilled that we spentextra time this week in the war room game planning and working out scenarios for each situation”

Bradford proceeded to put on another passing clinic with 393 yards and 2 TDS with a single INT that appeared to shock Bradford but he recovered from it well. “At the start of the game I was completely nervous, This Chiefs team has tasted the glory of the post season in the NML and has also played in the coveted Power Bowl, this is my first time to the rodeo.”  As Bradford poured on his boyish charm to the female reporters in the room I asked him about what he saw on the field. “Offensively we were shut down many times, we were pushed into running an offensive scheme that while new to me was not all that uncomfortable…and we had success. Honestly, our defense stepped up as they have for the last half of the season. I did notice that we had severe personnel issues in the first quarter with players out of place and were unable to get their assignments correct.” Bradford went on a rip connecting with speedster Jacoby Ford 5 times for a TD and 133 yards and his late game use of Vernon Davis was fantastic. Bradford orchestrated a late 4th quarter drive with less than 2 minutes to setup the go ahead field goal. Davis completed the game with a season high 9 receptions for 125 yards, he did not record a touchdown but got the game ball for his contribution.

I spoke with the Chiefs GM after the game and he wished the Colts well but knew there were some critical moments in the game. He was not sure why the coach did not go for it on 4th and 3 in a critical situation. The GM spoke of his receiving core becoming much stronger next year and from what I gather is impressed with the late season passing game.

The Colts advance to the Divisional Round of the playoffs next week with a trip up to Denver.  In week 4 these two teams collided with a total annihilation by the Broncos. “The remainder of the post season will be a next to impossible feat. With the last 8 teams there are no gimmies. Each team in the playoffs are here because they are spectacular and deserve it” Coach Carroll said.  I will be covering the Broncos game next week and expect fire works when these two teams collide.

At their last meeting the Indianapolis Colts walked away with the Win by a single point in a game that almost seemed simulated like some type of online video game. In this week’s round one Wild-Card playoff game the Colts again eked out the victory by a whopping two points with a little more human control.

The first quarter loss of Kellen Winslow really dealt a blow to the Chiefs offensive production.Beanie Wells, who on the season finished #4 in rushing yards was virtually non-existent with only 15 yards on 6 carries. Andre Johnson was blanketed by Rookie Devin McCourty allowing only a single catch. “I believe most of our success was due to pressure on Aaron Rodgers and not allowing him to be superman as he has been all year” said Coach Pete Carroll in the after game interview. “Our game plan coming into the week was to stop Kellen Winslow, Andre Johnson and Beanie Wells which we did pretty well.” Winslow had amassed 4 catches for 77 yards before going down in the first quarter and

Last week Sam Bradford was made sick by his offensive weapons. This week, the whole outlook has changed. One day before the trade deadline GM Stephen Long sent his beloved #1 draft pick Ryan Mathews in exchange for a #1 draft pick that would later be used to sign the 6’5 hands of glue Vincent Jackson. “This is how I roll” exclaimed GM Stephen Long upon getting confirmation of the trade. Rookie ‘wanna be’ Jimmy Clausen was sent as well as a #4 draft pick to the Phins to acquire the services of VJ and Bruce Gronkowski. “We like some of the things Bruce has done, he’s not a power house but a potential solid backup” said Pete Carroll.

As you can imagine Pete Carroll is excited about the upcoming games when in week 1 of the 2010 season Sam Bradford was throwing to his #1 WR Michael Jenkins and #2 Earl Bennett, wow what a few weeks can do. I spoke with Sam over the phone and he almost sounded giddy at the latest announcement. “I am a blessed man, I have Vincent Jackson, Pierre Garcon, Mike Thomas and Vernon Davis to throw to”. This reporter believes that the rock tossing Colts have just put their division on notice. Each teams DB’s better be honing their skills when the Colts come to town after next their bye week.

In the first game since the league trading period ended the Indianapolis Colts stunned the Houston Texans in a 48-23 route. After giving up 2 hail marry bombs to Slaton and White the Colts turned up the heat and began to air it out as well. Stud Rookie QB Sam Bradford completed 26 of 34 passes with 6 TD tosses and 1 INT for 431 YDS. Bradford delivered the ball to 5 different receivers with each getting a touchdown for their contribution. I think the biggest story of the night was that the Colts finally got their running game firing, albeit only on 3 cylinders. HB Shonn Greene ran for 62 YRDS on 8 attempts and crossed the white line for a TD. Owner GM Stephen Long expressed concern about the lack of a running game and made an urge to Coach Pete Carroll to get the rock moving on the ground, which appeared to have worked.

The Texans pulled out all the tricks with attempting to convert a couple 4th downs which tuned out to be costly. The renewed Colts defense with new additions Richard Seymour

and Stephen Tulloch made way for 2 INT one being by Tulloch himself, the other was from CB Kareem Jackson. In the postgame wrap up

QB Sam Bradford addressed the media. “I stand here today a humble man, I asked for weapons, I received weapons”. Bradford went on to say that he was happy that the organization was behind him 100% and has built the team around his skill set. Bradford spoke of the fact that the additions of Vernon Davis, Pierre Garcon, Vincent Jackson, Richard Seymour and Stephen Tulloch just prior to the trade deadline have put the Colts in contention for the division. “Without these new faces there is no way we could have taken the Texans tonight, I tip my hat”.

Tonight’s game may very well have been the 1st strike needed for the Colts to take their division by the throat. If the other Texas team does their job then the Colts will be within striking distance of the Jaguars and the sprint to the finish will be a doozy.
