3/02/10 Tampa Bay. FL - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are looking ahead to the 2010 season and can not wait for it to get here. This is a team that has grown leaps and bounds above the rest. Each season since they entered the league 3 years ago. they've improved. While seasoned quarterback Donovan McNabb is getting along in NML years. he is still omong the best in the league.
One highlight of many this season was the
play of running back Darren Sproles who was drafted last year. If he can keep up his dominate play on the ground and McNabb is able to keep hitting his target on offense there is no reason not to expect this team to compete against the Lions for the Power Bowl.
Looking ahead to the draft. Tampa could use a few spots just to make the roster perfect. An outside linebacker should be the Bucs number one priority and there are a few that would fit well into Tampa's scheme. There are a couple that kind of stand out and should be available when the number 28 pick rolls around.
Navorro Bowman out of Penn State would be a great pick for the Bucs at 28 and by all accounts he should be there. He's been toute as the best 4-3 linebacker in the draft. At the combine he benched 26 reps which was slightly higher than the average linebacker. His 40 time could have been better as well. but this kid is a play maker. The one thing that might really keep the Bucs away are his off-the-field issues.
The second prospect. and one that they could wait until perhaps the 3rd round to pick. is Utah's Koa Misi. He's a very versitile player that seems to be in demand these days as he plays both defensive end and outside linebacker. Misi also has the heart and drive of a champion. He gives his all on every play and known for it.
Other positions that the Bucs need to look at are that of defensive tackle. wide receiver. and possibly a left tackle.
It has been good drafting that has gotten Tampa Bay so far so you know they'll make all the right decisions come April.
