Buffalo's Quest to Return to Power Bowl
8/13/10 Buffalo, NY - The Buffalo Bills haven't made a trip to the Power Bowl since the second one in New York City when they were upset by the Kansas City Chiefs. While a rematch with the Chiefs in the Power Bowl has been made impossible do to realignment, the Bills are still looking to exact some revenge on the FFC who's current teams have won for the past 4 years.

Of the current Bills only a handful remain from that last Power Bowl appearance and their time in the league is coming to an end as each year progresses. Most of the old team has retired, a few others playing for a different team. But how are these Bills of today?
How will they fair against the Texans, Bengals, and Broncos of the UFC? Even since last season they've lost some key players to expansion draft, like LB Antonio Pierce who earned a defensive player of the week award last season. Pierce so hated leaving Buffalo that he retired when he learned he was drafted by the St. Louis Rams.

On offense the Bills look pretty sound. They have arguably one of the best quarterbacks in the game in Drew Brees. And they will need him to perform to his top degree. His best target is second year player Michael Crabtree. Other than that Brees will be looking for semi-average receivers in Devin Thomas, Damian Williams and Stefan Logan. Their tight end is Randy McMichael, one of the afore mentioned left from the Power Bowl years.
Buffalo's defense is where they will make their mark as it is one of the stronger ones in the league. Leading that strong defense is Patrick Willis who might just be the best middle linebacker around. Other linebackers include Clay Matthews, Larry English, and even stud rookie Daryl Washington. Up front the Bills are looking strong as well with Marcus Stroud, Trevor Pryce, and Mark Anderson. Their backfield is one of the best as well with top corners such as Asante Samuel and DeAngelo Hall. Safties Eric Weddle and Jim Leonhard round out that backfield.

Yes this is a strong football team defensively. If the offense can limit the turnovers than look for this team to make it not only to the playoffs, but perhaps its 3rd Power Bowl.
